8 Bible Verses on Ungrateful

8 verses

In a world marked by rebellion against God, people often exhibit ungrateful hearts, rejecting the goodness and provision of their Creator. The Apostle Paul warns of such a spirit in 2 Timothy 3:1-4, describing a time when people will be lovers of themselves and unthankful. This attitude is also reflected in the works of the flesh listed in Galatians 5:19-21, which include selfish desires that lead to ingratitude. In contrast, Hebrews 13:5-6 encourages believers to trust in God's promise to never leave or forsake them, cultivating a spirit of gratitude and contentment, as Jesus taught in John 15:20, reminding His disciples that they would face similar rejection, but should remain faithful.

But understand this: In the last days terrible times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good, traitorous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
But understand this: In the last days terrible times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good, traitorous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these!
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said: “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence: “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; idolatry and sorcery; hatred, discord, jealousy, and rage; rivalries, divisions, factions, and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Remember the word that I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they kept My word, they will keep yours as well.
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign upon the earth.”
Seek the LORD, all you humble of the earth who carry out His justice. Seek righteousness; seek humility. Perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the LORD’s anger.
