14 Bible Verses on Untimely Death

14 verses

In the midst of life, unexpected tragedy can strike, leaving loved ones to grapple with the pain of untimely death. The Bible acknowledges this harsh reality, as seen in Psalms 118:17, where the psalmist affirms God's presence even in the face of premature mortality. Isaiah 57:1-2 and Genesis 6:3 offer insight into the mysterious nature of life's duration, while Isaiah 41:10 and Psalms 139:16 remind believers of God's sovereign care and the preciousness of every life in His sight. Through these passages, Scripture encourages the faithful to trust in God's goodness and wisdom, even when death comes unexpectedly.

I will ransom them from the power of Sheol; I will redeem them from Death. Where, O Death, are your plagues? Where, O Sheol, is your sting? Compassion is hidden from My eyes.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
