BSA1 This is the list of the Israelites [sons of Jacob, God’s chosen people]—the heads [chiefs, leaders] of families, the commanders [princes, rulers] of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers [officials, overseers] who served [ministered to] the king in every matter [affair, concern] concerning the divisions [sections, courses] on rotating military duty [monthly service, army rotation] each month throughout the year.
