Psalms 131
BSA1 My heart [the seat of feelings, will, and intellect] is not proud [haughty, lofty], O LORD [Yehovah, the Lord God], my eyes [the source of perception] are not haughty [exalted, lifted up]. I do not aspire [exercise myself, concern myself] to great things [matters of importance, wonderful works] or matters [affairs, undertakings] too lofty [high, wonderful] for me [beyond my ability, too great for me]. word study 2 Surely I have stilled [calmed, quieted my spirit] and quieted [kept silent, still] my soul [the essence of my being, my inner self]; like a weaned [matured, fully satisfied] child with his mother [nourisher, caregiver], like a weaned [content, at peace] child is my soul [my heart, my deepest self] within me [in my innermost being, deep inside]. word study 3 O Israel [the descendants of Jacob], put your hope [wait patiently, trust confidently] in the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God], both now and forevermore [till the end of time, always]. word study
