BSA

1 Come [let us walk together], let us sing [with joyful voices, shout for joy] for joy to the LORD [Yehovah, the Lord of our lives]; let us shout [make a joyful noise, cry out] to the Rock [foundation, refuge] of our salvation [deliverance, rescue]! word study 2 Let us enter [come before, meet] His presence [face, before Him] with thanksgiving [praise, worship]; let us make a joyful [loud, celebratory] noise [shout, song] to Him in song [psalms, musical worship]. word study 3 For the LORD [Yehovah, the great I Am] is a great [mighty, powerful] God [Elohim, the supreme deity], a great [exalted, supreme] King [Ruler, Sovereign] above [over, ruling] all [every] gods [false deities, idols]. word study 4 In His [almighty, powerful] hand [an open hand; strength, a side or share] are the depths [deep places, secluded areas] of the earth [land, soil, or ground], and the mountain [lofty summit] peaks [summits, heights] belong to Him [as His possession, under His authority]. word study 5 The sea [a large body of water] is His [the sovereign Lord], for He [the Creator] made [formed, created] it, and His hands [an open hand; strength, a side or share] formed [shaped, molded] the dry land [solid ground, earth]. word study 6 O come [let’s enter in], let us worship [give praise and adoration] and bow down [falling down on our knees]; let us kneel [bend our knee in reverence] before the LORD [Yehovah, our heavenly Father] our Maker [the one who created us, our Creator]. word study 7 For He [our supreme Lord] is our God [Elohim, the one true deity], and we are the people [a nation, a flock] of His pasture [the land He cares for, a place of nourishment], the sheep [those under His guidance] under His care [His watchful eye, protection]. Today [this present moment, a time of opportunity], if you hear [listen to, obey] His voice [the sound of His speaking, a call to follow], word study 8 do not [refuse to] harden [make stubborn, unyielding] your hearts as you did [in rebellion, with a quarrelsome spirit] at Meribah [a place of contention, strife], in the day [a time of testing, trial] at Massah [a trial, a testing of faith] in the wilderness [a desert, a place of spiritual dryness, barrenness], word study 9 where your fathers [ancestors, forefathers] tested [tried, proved] and tried [put to the test, examined] Me, though they had seen [looked upon, witnessed] My work [deeds, accomplishments, divine acts]. word study 10 For forty [a significant period of time, four decades] years I was angry [grieved, loathed] with that generation [a group of people, a period of time], and I said, “They are a people [a nation, a group] whose hearts [the innermost part of a person, including their mind, will, and emotions] go astray [to err, wander], and they have not known [to ascertain by seeing, to learn, perceive] My ways [My path, My manner of action].” word study 11 So I swore [in My fierce indignation, with a solemn vow] on oath [a promise, a binding declaration] in My anger [wrath, fierce displeasure], “They shall never [if they come, under no circumstances] enter [come into, experience] My rest [a state of quietness, a peaceful dwelling place].” word study
