Worsley

1 Now on the same day, Jesus went out of the house, and sat by the sea-side: 2 and many people were gathered together to Him, so that He went into a ship and sat down, and all the multitude stood upon the shore; and He spake to them many in parables, 3 saying, 4 fell by the way- and the birds came and ate them up:} 5 where they had not much earth; and they soon sprung up because they had no depth of earth;} 8 some sixty, and some thirty.} 10 And the disciples came to Him and said, Why dost thou speak to them in parables? 11 And He answered them, saying, 12 hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have abundantly; but whosoever hath not, even which he hath, shall be taken away from him:} 13 I speak to them in parables; because though they see, they will not see; and though they hear, they will not hear, nor understand.} 14 hearing and not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: for the heart of this people is grown stupid,} 16 your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear:} 17 have desired to see which ye see, and have not seen and to hear what ye hear, and have not heard } 18 -kingdom,} 19 cometh the wicked and snatcheth away that which was sown in his heart: this is he who received the seed by the way-} 20 upon stony is one that heareth the word and immediately receiveth it with joy:} 21 is but for a season; and when affliction cometh, or persecution on account of the word, he is soon disgusted.} 22 heareth the word; but the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches choketh the word, and it becometh unfruitful.} 23 some an hundred- some sixty, some thirty.} 24 Another parable propounded He unto them, saying, 28 enemy hath done this. The servants therefore said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?} 29 plucking up the tares ye root up the corn along with them.} 31 Another parable delivered He unto them, saying, 32 the lest of all seeds: but when it is grown, is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree; so that the birds of the air come and lodge in it’s branches.} 33 Another parable spake He unto them, 34 All these spake Jesus in parables to the multitudes; and He spake nothing to them without a parable: 35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables, I will publish which have been concealed from the foundation of the world. 36 Then Jesus leaving the multitude went into the house; and his disciples came to Him, saying, Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field: 37 and He answered them, and said, 38 kingdom; and the tares are the children of the wicked } 41 offences, and those who do iniquity, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire,} 42 there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.} 43 the righteous shall then shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.} 47 of various sorts;} 50 there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.} 51 saith Jesus unto them, they say unto Him, Yes, Lord: and He said unto them, 52 instructed in the kingdom of heaven, is like a master of a family, who brings forth out of his store new and old.} 53 And when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence: 54 and came into his own country, and taught them in their synagogues; so that they were amazed and said, Whence hath this this wisdom and powers? 55 Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? 56 and his sisters, are they not all among us? from whence then this all these 57 So they were prejudiced against Him. But Jesus said unto them, 58 And he did not many miracles there, because of their unbelief.
