30We will not give our daughters in marriage to the people of the land, and we will not take their daughters for our sons. 31When the people of the land bring merchandise or any kind of grain to sell on the Sabbath day, we will not buy from them on a Sabbath or holy day. Nehemiah 10:29 Summary
[This verse is about the Israelites promising to obey God's commands, which were given to them through Moses. They made a solemn promise to follow God's Law, which is a big part of what it means to be a follower of God. As it says in Psalm 119:105, God's Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, guiding us in how to live. By obeying God's commands, we can show our love for Him and live a life that honors Him, as Jesus teaches in John 14:15.]
