How to use this file: This is version 2, a new and updated file...... many mistakes have been corrected, broken links fixed, and voluminous additions to the supporting texts have been made and some commentary has been added, If you have version 1, please delete and replace it with this version.
It is my sincere belief that this tool can help you come to know Jesus in a much more personal and meaningful way. May the Holy Spirit bless your studies, your life, and your destiny as you learn to find that hiding place "in Jesus". [Take a moment to do a search in this document for the exact phrase of "in Christ" and review the tooltipped scriptures you find.... it is very encouraging.] What follows is the "intro" as written for version 1 of this tool..... I feel that version 2 will still need to have a proper "introduction" as to why this project even came about: I am so glad you have interest in who Jesus is !! This project was an outgrowth of my prayer about the story of the 5 wise and 5 foolish virgins. I asked the Lord for that EXTRA oil that the 5 wise virgins carried.... and my mind immediately went to the concept that the foolish didn’t buy at the "buyers and the sellers" when they had a chance. Therefore, since we find in Isaiah 55:1 that we can and should buy "without money and without price", I decided to look at the Four Gospels to find out who this Jesus really is (I got carried away and included Acts & Romans, and just a few other appropriate texts from other Bible books) Thus you may preface all the "chapters" in this document with the phrase: "Jesus is identified in the Bible as...." (please allow me the liberty of the "extra" use of the word "as" when you combine this phrase with any of the chapters below.... sometimes it is grammatically correct, but sometimes it will not be).
Since you have taken the time to download this file, it is my belief that you are earnestly seeking to "buy at the sellers" the knowledge of Jesus (see John 17:3) and possess that "extra oil" of the Holy Spirit before it is too late and the door is shut. (see Matthew 25:10). May the Lord bless you greatly with your purchase: (remember that it is a free purchase !!)
I did not try to make this a comprehensive file (i.e, not every reference to "Jesus" is found under the chapter "as Jesus", not every verse is harmonized across all gospels..... my method was read through each Gospel Book, and when I came to a text that told me something about Jesus, I would write it down in a notebook and "maybe" I would remember that I had previously had read a concept like that in a previous book, so I would try to "file" it under the chapter I had previously read. Obviously, this won’t be like a "search" in e-Sword which catches everything, but there is the advantage, that if the concepts were similar and the words different, it is likely that I have filed it under the chapter that deals with that concept (unlike using an exact word search like you would with any Bible software). The purpose of my study was to gather the EXTRA OIL from the sellers (i.e. the Gospels).... I bought what I found, but I didn’t find everything. This file is a tool, but read your Bible as it is not a tool but the Living Word of God.
You can easily just scroll down (or up) to each chapter (and after each word search) using the down (or up) arrow keys. This document is searchable by what words are used in each chapter: (some interesting searches would be on the words: "2nd coming", "Lord", "Christ", "Son of God", "declaring", "compassionate", "Father", "glory", "angels", "power" .... you get the idea.)
Pray that as you read the Holy Spirit will open to you all the riches of the Father’s grace to you through the sacrifice and intercession of Jesus our Lord !
