David and Samuel] David and Samuel the Seer (though he died in the time of Sauls reigne) ordained, and ordered the Priests, and Levites, Singers, and Porters, in their set Offices, and Courses; See ver. 10, 14, 22 and Chapters XXIII. XXIV. XXV. XXVI. as the Lord God of Israel had commanded him, 1 Chron. XXIV. 19. by the Spirit, and by God and Nathan; 1 Chron. XXVIII. 12, 19. 2 Chron. XXIX. 25. and VIII. 14. and XXXV. 4, 15. And Solomon did according to him, 2 Chron. XXXV. 4. Neh. XII. 45.
