ye are the people] Ye all three. This is an ironical scoffe, with indignation. See the Observations on Iosh. XI. 4. and on Amos IV. 4, 5.
Job 12:4
who calleth upon God] Either the mocked or mocker, calleth upon God.
answereth him] The mocker; whereas Iob himself, the mocked, is not answered.
Job 12:6
of robbers prosper] This Iob proves at large.

earth] This English word may seeme to come from the Hebrew word 〈 in non-Latin alphabet 〉.
Job 12:11
Doth not the eare] So easie is this point of trial.
Job 12:12
with the ancient] This may relate to that, chap. VIII. 8, 9, 10. And indeed it should be so, chap. XXXII. 7. but is not alwayes so, ver. 20. and XXXII. 9.

are his] And subject to his authority and power.

girdle] Bringeth them to a lower condition.
