Psalms 143:1

faithfulnesse] For performance of thy faithful and true promises made to me.

righteousnesse] To maintaine and defend a righteous cause.

Psalms 143:2

Enter not] Though my cause be just; yet my person is sinful and unjust, not able to abide thy judgement, Rom. III. 20. So Job XXII. 4. and XIV. 3. Gal. II. 16.

no man living] Heb. not all living, i. e. not any living. As Mat. XXIV. 22. 1 John II. 21. 2 Pet. I. 20. Psal. LXXVI. 5.

Psalms 143:4

is desolate] Or wondrously amazed, upheld only by Gods power.

Psalms 143:8

cause me] The work is Gods. He the actor of it. And therefore to him he lifts up his soul. So verse 10.

Psalms 143:10

good; lead me] Or, by thy good Spirit lead me: Thus prayer-wise: or shall lead me; spoken in way of assurance.
