19. So are the ways.—This verse is plainly very obscure; the sense seems to be, that those who plot against the lives of others, endanger and often lose their own, either in the attempt or afterwards, by the vengeance of their relatives, or the law. There are also many other ways in which those who seek unlawful gain bring on themselves destruction, as by over exertion, or the encountering unnecessary peril in the attempt.
