Deuteronomy 25

Deuteronomy 25:1

They shall justify the righteous.

They shall absolve and acquit the innocent.

Deuteronomy 25:5

Her husband’s brother shall go in unto her.

He, that is next in blood to her husband, shall retire himself to a conjugal familiarity with her.

Deuteronomy 25:6

Shall succeed in the name of his brother.

Shall be reputed as the son of that brother which is dead.

Deuteronomy 25:9

And shall spit in his face (or, presence), and shall answer and say, So shall it be done to the man that will not build up his brother’s house.

And shall spit upon the ground, before him; and shall say: So shall the man be defied, or spat out of the congregation, as justly worthy of contempt, who refuseth to raise up seed to his dead brother.
