Mark 6:5

And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

And he could not abide to do any great miracles there among them, because of their infidelity. VI. 8, 9. And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse: But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats. See Matthew x. 9, 10.

Mark 6:13

And anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

And, as a sign extraordinarily appointed by God for the miraculous cure of the diseased, they anointed the sick with oil, in very great multitudes, and healed them.

Mark 6:20

For Herod feared John, &c.

For Herod had an awful and reverent conceit of John, knowing that he was a just and holy man.
