6 three. Rather, “in three stories,” as R.V. that they might have hold, etc. R.V., “that they might have hold [therein], and not have hold in the wall of the house”; cp. 1 Kings vi. 6, and note.

8 six great cubits. Or, “six cubits to the joining,” or corner (R.V. marg.). Currey (Speaker’s Commentary) translates: “The floor of the side-chambers to the ceiling six cubits.”

12 the separate place, etc. An annexe; a place for storage or for ashes, etc.
