7 the girdle. The girdle is an important part of dress in countries where long loose robes are worn.

23 ear . . . hand . . . foot. A token that all the bodily senses and active powers were consecrated to God’s service. See further on xiv. 14.

33 door of the tabernacle. That is, of the tabernacle court; for they were not allowed to live in the holy place.
