4 peace offerings, etc. On this solemn occasion all the different kinds of offerings were presented, except the trespass offering, which would not be needed, as being provided for cases of injury. See ch. v. and notes.

15. And he brought, etc. Aaron is now deemed fit to minister for the people.—for sin. The sin was laid upon the victim, or imputed to it: hence the expression in 2 Cor. v. 21.

23 the glory. Probably in the cloudy pillar, the symbol of the Divine presence.

24 and consumed, etc. God thus testified His acceptance of the offerings presented to Him, as He did again at the dedication of Solomon’s temple (2 Chron. vii. 1; and ep. 1 Kings xviii. 38).
