Jonah 4

Jonah repining at God’s mercy in sparing the Ninevites, is reproved by the type and figure of the gourd.

Jonah 4:1

JLjUT it displeased Jonah exceedingly, &c. God’s mercy in sparing the Ninevites was very displeasing to Jonah; and he expressed a great impatience under it, lest he should be esteemed a false prophet, and treated las such.
