Psalms 107
SIBREFLECTIONS UPON PSALM CVII.—Behold the effects of sin in forms unnumbered in wanderings, imprisonments, sickness, storms, barrenness, poverty, &c. Behold also the power of effectual fervent prayer!—It brings speedy relief in every case. The holiness and equity, the goodness, mercy, and sovereignty, of God, are connectedly displayed in his providence to men. With exact and humble care ought we then to consider the doing of the Lord, and to compare it with his word, and with our prayers, and one part of it with another: so shall we understand the loving-kindness of the Lord. And, were we accurate observers of providence, constantly would our heart, our lips, and life, be filled with the high praises of his kindness, and of his wonderful works, towards the children of men
