A Prayer

Companions of the Way (Morning)

GRANT, O Lord, that we may have age without pain, and death without suffering: that we may love Thee, and be resigned to Thy will, and may acknowledge Thy laws to be in all things the rule of our life. Let us say in our hearts, "The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. Yea, though I walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me." Make us to think in the hour of death of the sufferings of others rather than of our own, and let us not forget that there are blessings reserved for us greater than any pains and suffering. Give us peace, O Lord, in the hour of our agony,

BENJAMIN and let us thank Thee for having made suffering possible JOWETT to us.
