Daily Cheer for All the YearBut let all those that put their trust in Thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because Thou defendest them: let them also that love Thy name be joyful in Thee.—Ps. v, 11.
It is a comely fashion to be glad,
Joy is the grace we say to God.
JEAN INGELOW.
The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, joy. Righteousness, of course, is just doing what is right. Any boy who does what is right has the kingdom of God within him. Any boy who, instead of being quarrelsome, lives at peace with the other boys, has the kingdom of God within him. Any boy whose heart is filled with joy because he does what is right, has the kingdom of God within him. The kingdom of God is not going to religious meetings, and hear- ing strange religious experiences: the kingdom of God is doing what is right—living at peace with all men, being filled with joy in the Holy Ghost.
HENRY DRUMMOND.
All god-like things are joyous. They have touched God, and so they carry with them an irresistible glad- ness everywhere.
F. W. FABER.
