God lives and works today. That doesn't mean, however, that all those who believe in him are exempt from difficulties and problems. However, it does mean that they can master their difficulties.
God's strength, power, and help are available for all who believe and trust in him. However, whether we experience his help or not depends on one thing. What is it? Listen to today's meditation by Basilea Schlink for the answer.
Difficulties which arise on our way, in our family or in our profession, can often be a sign of warning from God. Perhaps he lets them come because we need them. Perhaps he wants to use them to teach or chastise us.
Then our life has to be changed, either in a specific area or in general. In such cases, we can't simply pray away the difficulties. We have to accept them as a chisel of God and let him work on us.
God has shown me again and again that when we are confronted by difficulties, we should do two things. First, we must humble ourselves beneath the powerful hand of God, letting ourselves be chastened for our own good. And second, at the same time, let us remain children of our Heavenly Father.
Let us call upon his name and entreat him to display his power and solve the difficulties. This is true especially when the difficulties are hindering the progress of the kingdom of God. In such situations, the Lord has shown me that I should have faith and praise God by proclaiming who he is.
He called me to declare that nothing is impossible for him, that mountains have to melt like wax before him, and that he can transform difficulties by saying just one word. What power the prayer of faith can bring, all can be done, yes, everything, and miracles will happen. So he who prays with heart and soul to him, who make and ruleth all, will find all wants applied.
Many difficulties were placed in the way of the commissions of our sisterhood. We fought battles of faith over and over again together. That is, we spent many hours in prayer proclaiming in word and song how great and glorious the Lord is and how great his love is.
It's his love which always knows a way for his children and wants to bring them help. I can't count the times the Lord answered such prayers of faith, and we received the necessary help even if we sometimes had to wait a long time. Indeed, the greater the difficulties, the more wonderful the Lord proved himself to be when we endured with our prayers of faith and praises of his greatness.
Therefore, if you're sitting in the depths of your distress and difficulties, lift up your head and look up. In the depth of your own misery, God cannot be found, but outside of it, in the heights of his holiness, you'll find him waiting for your look and your call so that he can bring you help. You have been listening to a program written by Basilea Schlink of the Little Land of Canaan.
