Children's meeting

And he's going to have some questions. I think today we've got a little bit longer time. Not too much, so we'll have to move right along, because I want to have Mr. Erickson have some nice, crisp questions with him.

And I don't know if this is a bad thing or not, but he knows all my Sunday school lessons. I can be what they call wise, right? I don't think he knows it. I'm going to find out real quick, because somebody here might know what my lesson's about, but he won't know what my lesson's about.

I've got to do that. Bible study. You don't know what the Bible study is? Study the Bible? Learn the Bible? Listen to the Bible? I'll have to show you this first.

I'm going to read a story from the Bible, so we'll have to listen real good. I have to read quite a few verses. And is there anyone here that hasn't gone to school yet? You know the alphabet? Okay, you know the alphabet.

From that, I have listened to Sunday school teachers. Can everybody read this? No, because I can't read. But I know your letters.

I used to read them in blocks. I still have them. I bought one.

It's a big one. It's got everything in the world. So we're going to have those little letters that are on your building blocks.

They'll be up here. The interesting thing about them, they're all the same. And my name is Don Wardell.

So what will my initials be? D.W. Okay. You know what a D looks like, do you? A W? Okay, well, I'll put this little tape on it, because this is kind of a lock. That's my little cheap lock that's got stickers.

I didn't want this peeking through to see it. We'll just leave that there. I was wondering up behind here, because it's a drop-off.

It's kind of stupid and scary, so I won't say anything. I'm old. This is what it is.

I will read this to you now. You can see the letters up here. The S.W. That's the S.W. That's the S.W. She was an S.W. He gave her an S.W., and she became an S.W. Does Mr. Harrison know this lesson before? This is a new one? Oh, I've had that one.

Or at least, I have. I just haven't used it. I'm sure you boys and girls, the last time I used it was those boys and girls that broke through.

And I got thinking, well, you know, a preacher sometimes preaches the same sermon. In fact, somebody asked me one time, Don, and I preach sometimes, once in a while. And they said, do you ever preach a certain place? And I said, no.

Thankfully, no, because I have a poor memory. But I do. This here is Mr. Harrison.

I hope he writes this down, because every time I come here, I don't want him to steal any of my lessons. So what I do, I give them to him. Anytime.

If I know, maybe tomorrow night, he might have to use this. And he can use this tomorrow night. He might not have a whole fancy one like this, but he can draw it out.

Here we go now. Do you know what story this is about? Ready? Okay. What chapter is that you're writing? Chapter? Chapter.

Chapter. What's it like? Maybe John? How many for maybe? How many maybe for John here? Good. Okay.

We'll turn to John and chapter 4. Okay. Right on track. John, chapter 4. You listen to me now as we read this.

This, I'll read all the answers to you. I'm not going to tell you where you find the answers right yet. I'll give you a couple clues here.

This is a story. Doesn't make too much sense, does it? Yeah. The SW met the SW at the SW.

She was an SW. He gave her an SW and she became an SW. This here, I'll start reading just the verses I need.

This is about the Lord Jesus. And it said, He must go to Samaria. You've been listening to words that I read.

I'll try to emphasize them to you. Maybe a little bit. He must go to Samaria.

Then cometh he to the city of Samaria, which is called Sycamore, near to a parcel of ground that Jacob made for his son Joseph. Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus, therefore, being weary of the journey, sat with him in the well.

And it was about the sixth hour. Then cometh a woman of Samaria with her wife. Jesus said to her, Give us a drink.

Where is the second? Far away in the city. Then saith the woman of Samaria to him, How is it that thou be a Jew? Askest me, from a woman of Samaria, for to choose a woman of Samaria. Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knowest the gift of God, who is it said to be? Give me the drink.

Thou wouldst ask of him, and he would have given thee living water. Woman said to him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with to the well of the sea. From whence hast thou that living water? Then our father Jacob gave us a well, and drank thereof himself, and his children.

Now Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again. But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst. The water that I shall give him shall be in him, a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

The woman said to him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw it. Jesus said unto her, Go draw thy husband, and come hither to drink it. The woman answered and said, I have no husband.

Jesus said to her, Thou hast drawn thyself, and I have no husband. Thou hast had five husbands, and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband. That said itself to her.

Almost to the end, there will be one more two verses. The woman said to her, Sir, I receive a fellow of the prophet. Now, as they were looking for answers, I came to give you one more verse.

This woman here, went back to her city, and she told others about Jesus. They said unto the woman, the people that she talked to, she told them all about reading Jesus. They said to the woman, are you reading up? Then said the woman, Now you are reading up, because as I say, for we have heard it ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.

If you are like me, when you read a book, you turn to the last page, and you read the end of the book first. Well, that's the way this story starts. You have to get the answer at the end of the story.

In fact, you know what? I'll tell you something. You've probably never heard this before. Who wrote the first five books in the Bible? Moses.

Moses, right. Nobody questions that. Everybody believes it.

And he went to the school in Egypt. That's where he learned. And he was very, very learned.

Very intelligent. Very wise. You know what? He wrote those five books in the Bible.

And, what did the Egyptians do? That's why people get mixed up in the Bible when they read it. Genesis chapter 1 and chapter 2. They put a big gap in there. They don't know why.

They don't understand that what the Egyptians did, they put the summary at the beginning. Not at the end. And that's six times in the book of Genesis they did that.

verse 1 is just the way it began. It doesn't start at the beginning. God created the heavens and the earth.

That's the summary. Of all that he did. So, the summary of this whole story starts at the end.

The summary at the end. The S.W. What was the story about? Who was the main character? The one that we want to think about today. The one we've been singing about.

Wait a minute. Now, you, give me another name for Jesus. I could give you about thirty, thirty-four? I taught that to my students.

Years ago. All the different names for Jesus. All the different things to talk about.

To bow. All kinds of names. You're right.

Here we are. What did he say? Savior of the world, he said. The Savior of the world.

Now, just remember that. Man, this is a verse that told us to think through as to the present. He's going to teach us.

The Savior of the world met somebody. He met somebody. He met the SW.

I think we better go to a boy. The Samaritan woman. That was, I think I read that two or three times, didn't I? The Samaritan woman.

Did you remember this little story? It was reading the Bible. We were coming down. The Savior of the world met the Samaritan woman.

I'm going to come back. There's a word Jesus wants to meet you today. Yes.

I'm going to tell you where he wants to meet you. That's the best thing about the gospel. And I tell it a lot of times.

Where he wants to meet you. Met the Samaritan woman. Where did they meet? At the Samaritan well.

She gets fifty percent. Fifty percent. At a well.

At the Samaritan well. Well, I think there were some wells. There wasn't any wells in Samaritan.

She went outside the city. Did you hear this? The city of Samaritan. That's where she comes from.

That's why she's called the Samaritan woman. She met him at a well. What was the name of that well? You read about Jacob? He'd get his cattle there.

He dug that well. He gave it to the people there. It was very loud.

It was crazy. There's a little condition. Huh? Yeah, you're close.

Psychic. Psychic. That's what it said there.

I'll read that in a few more letters. He's called Psychic. Then coming into the city of Samaritan, which is called Psychic, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to the Psychics.

So, you all get fifty percent. Both got a hundred percent. It's the Samaritan well, but the real name is called the Psychic's well.

Right? The real name is called the Psychic's well. The Psychic's well. That was the well.

And a well. She went to draw one. She was a SW.

Now this is something. The Lord Jesus talked to her. I don't know if you did too.

They were talking about the well. They were talking about different things. Finally, the Lord Jesus said to that woman, Ah, what about your... Something that she didn't really understand.

What about your... He's giving you one word. Sin. Is that what you said? What? Sin.

Yeah, you're right. He's got the answer. The Lord Jesus said to her, Woman, what about your sin? She was a sinful woman.

Sinful woman. I've got a question for Mr. What is a notorious sinner? A notorious sinner. A notorious sinner is a sinner that everybody that knows her, she knows that she's a sinner.

There's no doubt in their mind that she did bad things. That's a big word that you learned today in this little Sunday school. I heard it one time and I thought, that is right.

She was a notorious sinner. That word notorious means that everybody knew. Notorious.

Everybody knew. She knew she was a sinner. The Lord Jesus knew she was a sinner.

And that means she was a very sinful woman. Okay? She was a sinful woman. In other words, everybody pointed their finger at her.

I know. He gave her Lord Jesus. He gave her something.

This woman Who has to answer the question? I'd like to answer the question. Satisfying water? That's right. That's why I read that so carefully for you.

I figured you'd get that. What was it? Satisfying water. Jesus said, if you drink of this water in this well, Mr. Erickson, he could get a payout and a rope and a thing that he could have on his house.

I left them all home today. I'm hurrying them up. This is about the site of the well.

Jesus said, this water of this is satisfying. You have a drink? Today? There's tomorrow, right? This water that Jesus said, this is something different. It'll satisfy you.

And she became what? After she went back into the city? Let me read this. This is a hard one, a little bit. It says, many of the Samaritans believed in the city and they said, until now we believe.

Not because of I say, we've heard enough time. The first person that ever told these Samaritans about Jesus was this woman. So what was she? And then they believed.

See the woman? Real close? Right? The W is next. The woman? The saved woman? Okay. That's good.

Was she listening to the ministry this morning? Spiritual woman? Okay. No? Okay, I've got a quick one now. She was a This word is a winner.

You don't want to be a loser, do you? Do you want to be a winner? Well, this woman here is a winner. She was a Soul winner. Soul winner.

She was a soul winner. She went out there and she told other people and they became to love Jesus. There is this Savior of the world.

Lord Jesus, He is the Savior of the world. That means everybody can be saved. He comes to be the Savior.

And He's the only one that can save you. He met this Samaritan woman at Stuyker's Well. Where does the Lord Jesus want to meet you? This might be a little hard to say.

Where do you think the Lord Jesus wants to meet you? He wouldn't come and meet you right here. Maybe there's some place that Jesus wants to meet you. The Bible talks about it.

Heaven. Yeah, oh yeah. Unless you'd be in Heaven.

That's the God has a wish in Heaven. And the wish of the Almighty God is that you'd be in Heaven. I tell you what.

He wants to meet you at Calvary. That's where the Lord Jesus wants to meet you. And He wants to forgive you of all your sins.

That's what this woman comes to understand. That sinful past. She was a sinful woman.

Oh yeah. We're all sinners, aren't we? All of us. The Lord Jesus knew all about her.

And He gave her satisfying life. Real happiness. True joy and peace.

Satisfying life. She became a soul winner. I hope you'll remember this little story about this woman.

Although she was sinful, she met the Savior. He kept her in all the prisons. And the Lord Jesus was the one that forgave her of all her sins.

And He gave her peace and happiness in her soul. That rose that He could take away. It's like a well springing up.

The first one. Right up here. Who did the woman meet and tell me why that's his name? Kayla.

Yeah. He's the only one that can put your sins away. God calls him the savior of the world.

But you know what that means? Are you in the world? Yeah, so that means you're a sinner before God. All right? All right. I'm glad you want it.

Yeah, that's good. Well, this is for a younger person. Who did the Lord Jesus meet? Sarah.

A Samaritan. A Samaritan woman. He did.

Yeah. And this is for... Yeah, we know where they met at. Where did they meet at? No? Where did they meet at? I don't know.

That's where you want to meet, Jesus, is that Calvary. Mary? Satan as well. All right? Can you spell that for me? Yeah.

Now, do you think the Samaritan woman wanted to go to heaven? Do you think the Samaritan woman wanted to go to heaven? What do you think? Do you think she wanted to go to heaven? I'm not hearing you. I'm not hearing you. I'm not asking you.

This is an opportunity. I'm just asking you. Do you think she wanted to go to heaven? She did.

Do you think the Savior, Jesus Christ, wanted her to go to heaven? Yeah. Do you think so? Well, right here. What was keeping her from going to heaven? What was keeping her from going to heaven? Becca.

Becca. She was a... Yes. Sin... She was a woman.

A sinful woman. All right? She was a sinful woman. Yeah.

Sinful. Do you know how God sees it? Not just sin. Not just sin.

Are you listening? Son, are you listening? Not just sin. He says we're full of sin. We're sinful.

We're sinful. What is sin, anyone? What is sin? What is sin? Do you know that's a good answer? Anything that does not please God is sin. But what happens if we please God today and please God tomorrow but the day after that we don't please God? What does that mean to you? If you've pleased Him the first few days you're still a sinner.

So you know what that means? Even if you sin once you're a sinner. Just one sin makes you a sinner. You know the Lord Jesus wanted her to go to heaven but He had to have her find out something.

What did she have to find out? What did she have to find out? What? Before... So, before the Lord Jesus could take her to heaven the woman had to see something about herself. Did it? Yeah. She had to agree with God.

God knew that she was sinful. God knew that she was a sinful woman but the woman had to agree with God that she was a sinful woman. Got it? If you don't agree with God in everything in everything you've got to agree with God that you're sinful.

You have to think like God. You have to see like God. You have to think like God.

You have to see like God sees. Yeah. Does this little guy here sin? Does he know he's a sinner? Probably not.

But this woman had to find out she was a sinner. She had never thought about meeting God until that time. Boys and girls, you're going to meet God when you're a sinner.

But the Lord Jesus saw her drawing water. What was she drawing out of the well? What? She wasn't drawing saving water. She was drawing... What? No.

She wasn't drawing satisfying water in creation. No. She wasn't doing that.

What was she doing? Yeah. She was drawing water. She was drawing water.

But the Lord Jesus said you know He wants you to know something. You're going to you're going to die one day and meet God. So what good what good does it do you to labor the things around her if you don't have your sins forgiven? Boys and girls, the first thing you have to do is get your sins forgiven.

That's what God wants you to know. Get your sins forgiven by God. And the Lord Jesus says if you knew who it was that spoke unto you and so then He could have given her living water or what? Who doesn't have a candy cane? What? Who else? Who doesn't have a candy cane? No.

Of course. Satisfying water. You see, the thing that He said was if you knew listen, boys and girls the Lord Jesus said to the sinful woman if you knew who it was that speaketh to you You see, knowing Jesus Christ personally Hey, boys and girls, let me ask you something.

Before the Lord Jesus Christ went to the well to meet the sinful woman was the Lord Jesus Christ existing? Of course He was. But did she know that the Lord Jesus Christ existed before then? No, she didn't. And boys and girls what you need to see about the Lord Jesus Christ is He's the only one that can take your sin away.

And you have to understand that for the first time. And that's called meeting Him and trusting Him. Okay? Alright.

So satisfying water He gave her. And boys and girls that's the idea of being saved. Being saved.

Okay? Now, after you get saved you have a story to tell. She went into the city and told everybody everybody what happened. What did she become? Rachel? A soul.

Alright. Good. How are you doing? You alright? I'll tell you one little story quick.

There was a man named Oliver Smith. He had a farm. One day out in his yard he put a big sign.

I'll give my farm to the man who satisfies. But everybody knew Mr. Smith. Nobody stopped.

He thought he had something. His voice reaches everybody. Finally the man stopped and said, I'm satisfied with the farm.

I like it. Well Mr. Smith said, if you're satisfied you would want my farm. He began to tell him about the one that satisfies.

Who is the only one that satisfies? None but who's can satisfy. None but Christ can satisfy. Okay.

Why don't you close in prayer? Don't run away after he closes in prayer because I have something for y'all. Okay. Just close your eyes.

Promise you? I'll be sure. I bow to heaven. We thank thee.

Lord bless the Lord Jesus Christ. A little prayer in our hearts today is as we think we're going to do it. Hold up our Savior.

Our dear Savior Jesus. We do pray our Father that there will be a time in your life when they will come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their very own personal Savior. That they may trust Him and thank Him for everything.
