This country used to proudly sing, God bless America, a land that I love. I stand beside her and guide her through the night with a light from above. That song about Irving Berlin has become a patriotic classic through the years, but the trouble is, friends, it isn't true anymore.
God cannot bless a nation that has turned her back on him. He can only judge it with a curse rather than a blessing. A curse for disobedience will fall upon a people who openly oppose his word and his laws.
We might as well sing today the true lyrics which far better represent our nation. God curse America, a land that I loved, a land that no longer loves God, but a land that hates God and all things holy. Listen friends, this country is about to see another side of God which she is quite unfamiliar with, the wrathful side of the Almighty.
America in former days has experienced the bountiful blessings and favor of a holy God because this nation once feared God and maintained his law, upheld his word. We used to honor God and the Ten Commandments in our public schools when I was a boy and now we honor those who break the Ten Commandments and pay them homage. I'm afraid it's no longer God bless America, friends, but rather sadly we will see the justice of a provoked God as he brings curses on America for her disobedience to him.
My message this evening, friends, is entitled God Curse America and it is a lamentation of how this once great country has fallen into gross immorality and open blasphemy for God is nothing more to bring to this country but a curse and judgment for her disobedience and rejection of him. You cannot mock God, friends, and get away with it forever. God is not mocked.
We see this in Paul's letter to the Galatians which states in Galatians 6 and verse 7, Be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap, and America is about to reap her just due. Our passage this evening can be found in the book Leviticus. You can turn in your Bibles there now, friends.
We will be in chapter 26 beginning in verse 14 and in this striking passage of scripture we see a holy God curse a people for disobedience. It is a passage which describes the justice of God and the judgment of God that will befall a disobedient and rebellious nation. This passage from Leviticus might as well be labeled God's right act for in this passage we have warning after warning from the lips of the Almighty of what a provoked God will bring upon a people who walk contrary to him and as we go to our time of prayer this evening friends we go with a heavy heart for how this nation was hijacked by liberal judges who hate God and who have outlawed God from this land.
We can only pray for mercy from a vengeful God. We must pray in your wrath remember mercy for this nation is about to experience the wrathful side of God as he brings swift judgment upon a people who live in open defiance to him. Listen carefully to this solemn passage of scripture friends as it best describes our sad nation at this tragic hour in our history.
Here now is the word of God and may the Spirit of the Lord be pleased to attend the reading and the burning ague that shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart and ye shall sow your seed in vain for your enemies shall eat it and I will set my face against you and you shall be slain before your enemies. They shall hate you shall reign over you and ye shall flee when none pursueth you and if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me then I will punish you seven times more for your sins and I will break the pride of your power and I will make your heaven as iron and your earth as brass and your strength shall be spent in vain for your land shall not yield her increase neither shall the tree of the land yield her fruits and if you walk contrary unto me and will not hearken unto me I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins I will also send wild beasts among you which shall rob you of your children and destroy your cattle and make you few a number and your highways shall be desolate and if you will not be reformed by me by these things but will walk contrary unto me then will I also walk contrary unto you and will punish you yet seven times for your sins and I will bring a sword upon you that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant and when you gather together within your cities I will send the pestilence among you and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy and when I have broken the staff of your bread ten women shall bake your bread in one oven and they shall deliver you your bread again by way and you shall eat and not be satisfied and if you will not for all this hearken unto me but walk contrary unto me then I will walk contrary unto you also in my fury and I even I will chastise you seven times for your sins and you shall eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters shall you eat and I will destroy your high places and cut down your images and cast your carcasses upon the carcasses of your idols and my soul shall abhor you and I will make your cities waste and bring your sanctuaries into desolation and I will not smell the savor of your sweet odors and I will bring the land into desolation and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it and I will scatter you among the heathen and will draw out a sword after you and your land shall be desolate and your cities waste then shall the land enjoy her Sabbath as long as it lies desolate and ye be in your enemies land even then shall the land rest and enjoy her Sabbath as long as it lies desolate it shall rest because it did not rest in your Sabbath when you dwelt upon it and upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them and they shall flee as fleeing from a sword and they shall fall when none pursueth and they shall fall one upon another as it were before a sword when none pursueth and you shall have no power to stand before your enemies and you shall perish among the heathen and the land of your enemy shall eat you up and they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies lands and also in the iniquities of their father shall they pine away with them well friends I will stop there this passage from the Word of God is terrifying to me friends it strikes terror in my soul for what is about to befall this once great nation a perfect storm is gathering from above and it will soon break upon our heads in a fury that knows no earthly comparison God is not mocked God have mercy on us all let us go now to our time of prayer let us fall to our knees in holy desperation it may be too late for this nation but let's pray for God's mercy upon it let us pray
