Leonard Ravenhill passionately warns that sin tolerated within the church is detestable to God and calls believers to a deep, convicting awareness of its deadly nature.
This sermon emphasizes the seriousness of sin in the eyes of God, comparing it to a loathsome and deadly disease like cancer. It challenges the indifference towards sin in modern congregations and the lack of preaching against it, highlighting the need for a revival of conscience and a return to holiness. When God's light exposes human corruption, it leads to a deep realization of sin and a desperate cry for deliverance.

It is loathsome in the sight of God, but the Himalaya say, quicken my conscience till it feels the loathsomeness of sin. There are no mild cases of sin, any more than any mild cases of cancer. They're all deadly.
What does he do in this psalm? He says, Hide thy face, ease of holier eyes, and to behold iniquity. How do you feel God thinks about the average congregation in our churches today, where sin doesn't matter any more? Full of adulterers and liars and divorced people, and all kinds of crimes that have been done. There's no preaching against sin.
Oh, once God exposes his light on human corruption, and only then do men cringe and howl for deliverance.
