The Law Is A Schoolmaster to Bring Us to Christ (Clip)

Ray Comfort · 0:53

Ray Comfort explains that the law serves as a schoolmaster to reveal sin and lead sinners to Christ for justification by faith.
This sermon delves into the role of the law in revealing sin and leading us to Christ for justification by faith. It highlights how the law serves as a schoolmaster to show us our need for a Savior and the danger of forsaking its convicting power. The focus shifts to how the church has shifted its emphasis from the law to promoting happiness and self-improvement through Jesus, rather than acknowledging our sinfulness and need for redemption.

Full Transcript

7 verse 7. Paul says, what should we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. And then he said, nay, I had not known sin but by the law. Paul said, I didn't know what sin was until the law told me. In Galatians 3 24, wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. So the law doesn't justify us, it just leaves us guilty before the judgment bar of Almighty God. And sadly, around the turn of the century, it seems the church as a whole forsook the law as an instrument of driving sinners to the Savior, as a schoolmaster to bring sinners to Christ. So it had to find another reason for sinners to respond to the gospel. And the issue the contemporary church chose is the issue of happiness. Jesus became a life improver, the one who can give true peace, joy, and lasting fulfillment.
