15.75 · Linear Movement · Come Near, Approach
to draw near, to come near, to approach to move nearer to a reference point In a number of languages it is not possible to merely say ‘to come near,’ for it is necessary to specify the reference point, in other words, ‘near to what?’ One may accordingly translate this expression in LUK 18:40 as ‘when he came near to Jesus, Jesus asked him.’

67.21 · Time · A Point of Time with Reference to Other Points of Time: Before, Long Ago, Now, At the Same Time, When, About, After
to approach, to come near, to approximate the occurrence of a point of time close to a subsequent point of time Though in many languages time may be expressed in terms of space, as in speaking of ‘time coming near,’ in other languages this may not be at all possible. Accordingly, this clause in MAT 21:34 may need to be translated as ‘it was about time to harvest’ or ‘when it was about time to gather the grapes.’
