ἐντέλλομαι. For this common verb = ‘‘give orders,” ‘‘ charge,” it is sufficient to cite P Grenf I. 30% (B.c. 103) οἷς καὶ ἐντετάλμεθ[α] ἀσπάσεσθαι ὑμᾶς παρ᾽ ἡμῶν φιλοφρόνως, P Tebt I. 37! (B.c. 73) ἐντέταλταί μοι παραλαβὼν στρατιώτας ἐκπορθῆσαι αὐτούς, P Ryl II. 229° (A.D. 38) ᾿Ὠφελίωνι ἐνετειλάμην ἵνα καὶ αὐτὸς Soi ἑτέραν (sc. ὄνον), 20. 241'° (iii/A.D.) περὶ ὧν σοι ἐνετίλατο Σ. ἐντέλλω (entellō) — to order. ἐντέλλω, enjoin, command, active only in [Refs 5th c.BC+]:— mostly in middle, τινί τι [Refs 5th c.BC+]; in a will, φίλοις ταῦτα ἐντέλλομαι [Refs 2nd c.AD+]: with dative person et infinitive, [Refs 5th c.BC+]; ἐντείλασθαι ἀπὸ γλώσσης command by word of mouth, [Refs 5th c.BC+]: so in perfect, ἐντέταλται [LXX+2nd c.BC+]:—passive, τὰ ἐντεταλμένα commands, [Refs 5th c.BC+]
