With the use of this subst. in Tit 2% we may compare Aristeas 122 τὸ μέσον ἐξηλωκότες KaTaoTHpa—ToiTo yap κάλλιστόν ἐστιν, ‘‘they cultivated the due mean, the best of courses”: see also 24. 210 τὸ τῆς εὐσεβείας, . κατάστημα, 278 τὸ δὲ τῆς ἀρετῆς κατάστημα.
