καταφέρω is used with reference to an assault in P Tebt I. 138 (late ii/B.C.) σπασάμενος ταύτην (sc. μάχαιραν) βουλόμενός pe ἀλογῆσαι κατήνεγκε [πλ]ηγαῖς τρισὶ καὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν καὶ τὸν τράχηλον. For the meaning ‘bring down,” ‘carry down,” cf. P Giss I, 40% 19 (A.D. 215) οἵτινες κάλαμον πρ[ὸ]ς τὸ ὑποκαίειν τὰ βαλα[νεῖ]α Katadépovor, P Oxy X. 129219 (c.
