The correct spelling of this verb with a single σ , as in Rev_16:10 (cf. Job_30:4 ), is found in the magic P Lond 46 .269 (iv/A.D.) (= I. p. 73) τοὺς ἰχθύας τοῖς στόμασι μασωμένους , fish gnawing with their mouths. Cf. Artemid. iv. 33 μασήσασθαι ἄρτους . MGr μασσῶ , chew.
