Hes. down]; descriptive of one who violates or has violated justice ; 1. unjust, (of God as judge): Ro. iii. 5; Eeb. vi. 10. 2. of one who breaks God’s laws, unrighteous, sinful, (see ἀδικία, 2): [1 Co. vi. 9]; opp. to δίκαιος, Mt. v. 45; Acts xxiv. 15; 1 Pet. iii. 18; opp. to εὐσεβής, 2 Pet. ii. 9; in this sense ace. to Jewish speech the Gentiles are called ἄδικοι, 1 Co. vi. 1 (see ἁμαρτωλός, b. B.). 3. spec., of one who deals fraudulently with others, Lk. xviii. 11; who is false to a trust, Lk. xvi. 10 (opp. to πιστός); c. τινά, 2 ἀδύνατος deceitful, μαμωνᾶς, ibid. vs. 11 (for other interpretations see ἀδικία, 2 b.).
