Faith Encounter

1 sermons

Faith encounters are transformative moments where individuals experience the profound presence and power of God, leading to a deeper understanding of His nature and will. Throughout Scripture, we see numerous examples of such encounters that reshape lives. In Hebrews 11:1, faith is defined as 'the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen,' illustrating that true faith often requires a personal encounter with the divine. For instance, in Luke 8:43-48, the woman with the issue of blood encounters Jesus and, through her faith, receives healing, demonstrating how faith can activate God's power in our lives. Similarly, the Apostle Paul recounts his dramatic encounter with Christ on the road to Damascus in Acts 9:3-6, which not only transformed his life but also redirected his mission. These encounters are not limited to biblical times; they continue to occur today, as believers seek God earnestly, as promised in Jeremiah 29:13, 'You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.' Ultimately, faith encounters challenge us to respond to God's call, as seen in Matthew 4:19, where Jesus invites His followers to become 'fishers of men,' highlighting the active nature of faith that leads to obedience and service.
