Finding Hope

2 sermons

Hope is a central theme in the Christian faith, intricately woven throughout Scripture and offering believers a profound assurance in times of trial. The Apostle Paul reminds us in Romans 15:13 that God is the source of hope, filling us with joy and peace as we trust in Him. This divine hope is not a mere wishful thinking but a confident expectation rooted in the promises of God. In Jeremiah 29:11, we find the assurance that God has plans for us, plans to prosper and not to harm, giving us a future filled with hope. Even in the midst of despair, as illustrated in the sermon 'The Towers Have Fallen, but We Missed the Message,' we are called to recognize that our circumstances do not define our hope; rather, our hope is anchored in Christ, who is our refuge and strength (Psalms 46:1). Jesus teaches in Matthew 11:28-30 that we can find rest for our souls in Him, inviting us to cast our burdens upon Him. As we navigate the challenges of life, we are encouraged to 'Fill the Night With Song,' echoing the psalmist's call to sing praises in darkness (Psalms 42:11), reminding us that hope shines brightest in the shadows.
