Righteousness By Grace

1 sermons

Righteousness by grace is a profound theme woven throughout Scripture, emphasizing that humanity's right standing before God is not earned through works but is a divine gift. As Paul articulates in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." This foundational truth is echoed in Romans 3:22, where it states, "Even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe." Here, the Apostle underscores that faith, rather than adherence to the law, is the means by which we receive God's righteousness. Furthermore, in Romans 5:1, we learn that through faith, we are justified and have peace with God, highlighting the transformative power of grace in our lives. Jesus Himself teaches in Matthew 5:20 that our righteousness must exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees, pointing to a deeper, heart-level righteousness that comes only through grace. Ultimately, righteousness by grace not only liberates us from the burden of legalism but also invites us into a relationship with God, as beautifully illustrated in 2 Corinthians 5:21, where Paul writes, "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." This divine exchange is the essence of our faith, reminding us that it is solely through grace that we stand justified before our Creator.
