Spiritual Crucifixion

10 sermons

Spiritual crucifixion refers to the Christian concept of dying to one's sinful nature and desires, as exemplified by Jesus Christ's crucifixion, in order to live a life devoted to God. This idea is rooted in biblical teachings, such as Galatians 2:20, where the Apostle Paul writes, "I have been crucified with Christ," and Romans 6:6, which states that our old self was "crucified with him" in order to be freed from sin. As believers surrender their lives to God, they experience a spiritual crucifixion, putting to death their fleshly desires and living according to the Spirit, as described in Romans 8:13, where Paul encourages believers to "put to death the deeds of the body" in order to live a life pleasing to God. Through this process, Christians can experience a deeper union with God and live a life of obedience and devotion, as guided by Scripture.
