Woundedness

10 sermons

The biblical topic of woundedness refers to the emotional, spiritual, and psychological pain that individuals experience as a result of sin, trauma, and suffering, which is a pervasive theme throughout the Bible. According to Psalms 34:18, God is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit, offering comfort and healing to those who are wounded. The apostle Paul also acknowledges the presence of woundedness in the Christian life, writing in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 that God is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in our affliction so that we may be able to comfort others. Ultimately, the Bible teaches that woundedness can be redeemed and transformed through faith in Christ, as expressed in Romans 8:28, where Paul asserts that all things, including suffering and pain, work together for good for those who love God.
