17 Bible Verses on Adversity

17 verses

In times of hardship and struggle, the Bible offers comfort and guidance. According to Romans 8:28, God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, even in adversity. The book of Proverbs encourages perseverance, noting that if one faints in the day of adversity, their strength is small, as seen in Proverbs 24:10. James 1:2-4 and 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 also remind believers that trials can refine their faith and character, while 1 Peter 5:10 promises that God will restore and strengthen them after they have suffered for a little while. Through these passages, Scripture teaches that adversity can be a catalyst for spiritual growth.
