22 Bible Verses on Anger and Forgiveness

22 verses

Scripture teaches that anger, when left unchecked, can lead to sin and damage relationships, as seen in Ephesians 4:26-27. However, James 1:19-20 encourages believers to be slow to anger, recognizing its potential to hinder spiritual growth. The Bible promotes forgiveness as a key aspect of Christian living, with Ephesians 4:32 instructing believers to forgive one another, just as God has forgiven them. By letting go of anger and resentment, as urged in Ephesians 4:31-32, and instead choosing to pray and trust in God's sovereignty, as encouraged in Philippians 4:6-7, believers can experience peace and reconciliation.

Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word must share in all good things with his instructor. Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything. What counts is a new creation. Peace and mercy to all who walk by this rule, even to the Israel of God. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
