10 Bible Verses on Automobiles

10 verses

As believers consider their earthly possessions, they are reminded to store up treasures in heaven, rather than accumulating wealth on earth, as Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:19-21. The love of material possessions, including modern conveniences like automobiles, can be a form of idolatry, as warned against in 1 John 2:16. The Bible encourages generosity and detachment from worldly goods, as seen in 1 Timothy 6:17-19 and Luke 12:33-34, where believers are exhorted to prioritize eternal riches over fleeting earthly comforts. Furthermore, Malachi 3:8 reminds believers to prioritize giving and faithfulness to God, rather than allowing possessions to distract from their devotion.

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but from the world.
Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be conceited and not to put their hope in the uncertainty of wealth, but in God, who richly provides all things for us to enjoy. Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, and to be generous and ready to share, treasuring up for themselves a firm foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.
Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide yourselves with purses that will not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you ask, ‘How do we rob You?’ In tithes and offerings.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness.
And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
