Throughout the Bible, believers are called to support and uplift one another in their faith journeys. In 1 Thessalonians and Hebrews, the importance of mutual encouragement is emphasized, as believers are exhorted to build each other up and avoid causing discouragement. The apostle Paul's letters, including Philippians and Romans, demonstrate the power of encouragement, as he expresses confidence in God's enabling presence and prays for the joy and hope of his readers. By speaking words of edification, as Ephesians teaches, Christians can help one another persevere and thrive in their walk with God.

Therefore encourage and build one another up, just as you are already doing.
But exhort one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building up the one in need and bringing grace to those who listen.
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness.
Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world!”
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for the sake of His name. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.
