16 Bible Verses on Honoring God

16 verses

By living a life that glorifies and obeys God, believers demonstrate their reverence and devotion to Him. In 1 Corinthians 10:31, the apostle Paul instructs to do everything for God's glory, while 1 Corinthians 6:20 reminds that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, belonging to God. The wisdom of Proverbs 3:9 encourages honoring God with wealth and the firstfruits of every endeavor, reflecting the heart of Deuteronomy 6:5, which commands loving God with all one's being. As 1 Samuel 2:30 suggests, God honors those who honor Him, emphasizing the importance of a life dedicated to His service and praise.

Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which is from God. The authorities that exist have been appointed by God. Consequently, whoever resists authority is opposing what God has set in place, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Do you want to be unafraid of the one in authority? Then do what is right, and you will have his approval. For he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not carry the sword in vain. He is God’s servant, an agent of retribution to the wrongdoer. Therefore it is necessary to submit to authority, not only to avoid punishment, but also as a matter of conscience. This is also why you pay taxes. But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you. But respond with gentleness and respect,
Whoever oppresses the poor taunts their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors Him.
But if it is unpleasing in your sight to serve the LORD, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD!”
If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, My servant will be as well. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
