In the midst of physical separation, the Bible offers guidance and encouragement for maintaining strong, loving relationships. The apostle Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 13:7 remind us that true love "bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things," even across distances. Colossians 2:5 and 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 emphasize the importance of commitment, patience, and trust in such circumstances. As seen in Genesis 31:49, where Laban and Jacob make a covenant before parting ways, and Joshua 1:9, where God reassures Joshua of His presence, the Bible teaches that faithfulness and loyalty can bridge even the widest of gaps.

It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
For although I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit, and I delight to see your orderly condition and firm faith in Christ.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs. Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
It was also called Mizpah, because Laban said, “May the LORD keep watch between you and me when we are absent from each other.

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. For if one falls down, his companion can lift him up; but pity the one who falls without another to help him up! Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one keep warm alone? And though one may be overpowered, two can resist. Moreover, a cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and turn away from evil. This will bring healing to your body and refreshment to your bones.
Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray at all times and not lose heart:
For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
If a man is newly married, he must not be sent to war or be pressed into any duty. For one year he is free to stay at home and bring joy to the wife he has married.
For the vision awaits an appointed time; it testifies of the end and does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it, since it will surely come and will not delay.
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness.
