According to Scripture, a long and fulfilling life is often associated with following God's commands and living a righteous lifestyle. The book of Psalms promises that those who dwell in the shelter of the Most High will live a long life, as stated in Psalms 91:16. The wisdom literature of Proverbs, such as Proverbs 10:27 and 16:31, also links long life to fearing God and living a virtuous life. Additionally, Deuteronomy 5:33 and 1 Peter 3:10 emphasize the importance of obeying God's commands and doing good in order to live a long life.

You must walk in all the ways that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.
The fear of the LORD prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be cut short.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (which is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life on the earth.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
For through wisdom your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life.
So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take away sickness from among you. No woman in your land will miscarry or be barren; I will fulfill the number of your days.
The length of our days is seventy years— or eighty if we are strong— yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
Beloved, I pray that in every way you may prosper and enjoy good health, as your soul also prospers.
Honor your father and mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
