7 Bible Verses on Praising God

7 verses

The expression of praise to God is a vital aspect of worship, as seen in the Psalms, where believers are exhorted to praise Him with various instruments and joyful voices. In Psalms 150:1-6 and Psalms 95:1-11, the importance of singing and music in praise is emphasized. The New Testament also encourages praise, as in Hebrews 13:15, where believers are urged to offer a sacrifice of praise to God. Additionally, James 5:13 reminds us to sing praises when we are cheerful, highlighting the connection between praise and a joyful heart, with all creation invited to join in, as stated in Psalms 150:6.

Hallelujah! Praise God in His sanctuary. Praise Him in His mighty heavens. Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him for His excellent greatness. Praise Him with the sound of the horn; praise Him with the harp and lyre. Praise Him with tambourine and dancing; praise Him with strings and flute. Praise Him with clashing cymbals; praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Hallelujah!
Is any one of you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone cheerful? He should sing praises.
Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout to the Rock of our salvation! Let us enter His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him in song. For the LORD is a great God, a great King above all gods. In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to Him. The sea is His, for He made it, and His hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, the sheep under His care. Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, in the day at Massah in the wilderness, where your fathers tested and tried Me, though they had seen My work. For forty years I was angry with that generation, and I said, “They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known My ways.” So I swore on oath in My anger, “They shall never enter My rest.”
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His name.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Hallelujah!
Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to Your name be the glory, because of Your loving devotion, because of Your faithfulness.
I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.
