In times of suffering, God's presence and comfort are assured to those facing terminal illness. The Bible teaches that He is near to the brokenhearted, as seen in Deuteronomy and Isaiah, where believers are encouraged to be strong and courageous, and not to fear. Through trials, God works to bring comfort and hope, as expressed in 2 Corinthians, and believers are called to rejoice in hope, as written in Romans. Ultimately, the promise of Revelation brings solace, as it declares that God will one day wipe away every tear, and there will be no more suffering or pain.

Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness.
‘He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”
Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life.
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.
In my distress I called upon the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry for His help reached His ears.
But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Until now you have not asked for anything in My name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail.
