Psalms 126
BSA1 When the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] restored [turned back, brought back] the captives [those held in bondage, prisoners of war] of Zion [the mountain in Jerusalem], we were like [as if, seemed to be] dreamers [those who experience a vision, have a prophetic dream]. word study 2 Then our mouths [lips, the edge of the mouth] were filled [to make full, complete] with laughter [joyful mockery, scorn], our tongues [the language, voice] with shouts [cries, ringing sounds] of joy [rejoicing, triumph]. Then it was said [spoken, declared] among the nations [Gentiles, heathen], “The LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] has done [made, accomplished] great [magnified, important] things [deeds, works] for them [these people].” word study 3 The LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] has done [to make, brought about] great things [wonderful, magnificent works] for us; we are filled [completely joyful, glad] with joy [happiness, rejoicing]. word study 4 Restore [turn again, bring back] our captives [those held in captivity, prisoners], O LORD [Yehovah, the Lord God], like [as, similar to] streams [channels, rivers] in the Negev [the southern district, the South]. word study 5 Those who [sowing seeds of faith, planting with weeping] sow in tears [of sorrow, with heartfelt crying] will reap [harvest, gather in] with shouts [loud ringing cries, joyful triumph] of joy [happiness, jubilation]. word study 6 He who goes out [walking in sorrow] weeping, bearing [carrying precious] a trail of seed [for sowing, a bag of precious seed], will surely return [come again, doubtless come] with shouts of joy [rejoicing, singing], carrying [bringing, lifting] sheaves [bound together, a bundle] of grain [the harvest, the crops]. word study
