2 Chronicles 34:32 Summary
This verse is talking about how the people of Jerusalem and Benjamin agreed to follow God's covenant, or promises, just like their king Josiah did. They publicly committed to obeying God's commandments and decrees, just as we are called to do in Matthew 22:37-40 and Romans 12:1-2. By doing so, they were able to remove the bad things from their land and serve the Lord together, as a community. This is an example for us today, to come together with other believers and follow God's commands, just as we see in Acts 2:42-47 and Hebrews 10:24-25.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does it mean for the people to 'take a stand in agreement' to the covenant?

How did the people of Jerusalem 'carry out the covenant of God'?
The people of Jerusalem carried out the covenant by serving the LORD their God, just as Josiah required, and by removing all the abominations from the land, as mentioned in 2 Chronicles 34:33, and following the example of their fathers, as seen in Exodus 24:7-8.
What is the significance of the people agreeing to the covenant 'before the God of their fathers'?
