2 Kings 21:11 Summary

This verse tells us that King Manasseh did many very bad things, even worse than the people who lived in the land before the Israelites, and he led the people of Judah to sin by worshiping idols. This made God very sad and angry, as we see in other parts of the Bible, like Exodus 20:3-5, where God commands us to worship only Him. We can learn from this that our actions have consequences, not just for ourselves, but also for those around us, and that we should strive to follow God's commands and be faithful to Him, just like it says in Psalm 119:136. By doing so, we can avoid leading others astray and instead be a positive influence on those around us.

(11) And hath done.—The and is not in the Hebrew, though the Syriac and Arabic supply it. It is not wanted, for the sense is, namely, because he hath done wickedly, &c. The Amorites.—A general designation of the native races of Canaan, just as in Homer Achaeans. Danaans, &c., in turn represent the Greeks. (See Amos 2:9,’ Ezekiel 16:3; and comp. 1 Kings 21:26.)
