2 Kings 23:19 Summary
This verse tells us that Josiah, the king of Judah, removed all the shrines of the high places in the cities of Samaria, just like he had done in Bethel. He did this because these shrines were used for idol worship, which is against God's commands, as seen in Exodus 20:3-5. By removing these shrines, Josiah was trying to obey God and make things right in the land (see Deuteronomy 12:2-3). This teaches us the importance of seeking to obey God's commands and removing sin and idolatry from our lives, just like Josiah did.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why did Josiah remove the shrines of the high places in the cities of Samaria?
